The 2023 Rallye Sanremo Storico paid tribute to the great tradition of motorsport, bringing back into competition some of the cars that wrote rally history. Part of the Italian Historic Rally Championship (CIRAS), the event took place on the legendary roads of the Ligurian Riviera, evoking a nostalgic atmosphere and a deep bond with the past.
The Sanremo Storico route wound through the beautiful Ligurian hills, on twisting, technically demanding roads. Among the most iconic special stages, Colle Langan and Vignai, famous for their slippery asphalt and changes in elevation, put the drivers’ precision and stamina to the test.
One of the event’s biggest attractions was the presence of legendary cars such as the Lancia Delta Integrale, Porsche 911, Fiat 131 Abarth and Ford Escort RS. These models, stars of rallying between the 1970s and the 1990s, gave spectators the thrill of seeing true motorsport masterpieces back in action.
The 2023 Rallye Sanremo Storico attracted experienced drivers and rally veterans alongside young talents eager to test themselves in historic cars. Among the entrants were many CIRAS champions, determined to claim victory on familiar ground.
