The Autobox team had the honour of attending a truly special event: a visit to the Petronas Lubricants International headquarters in Villastellone, thanks to an exclusive invitation from Petronas. A unique opportunity to experience first-hand the innovation that powers Formula 1 – and much more besides.
The undisputed star of the day was Kimi Antonelli, the young Italian talent from the Mercedes academy, who gave us a passionate account of the importance of the technical partnership between Petronas and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team. A relationship that goes far beyond sponsorship: Petronas develops and produces ultra-high-performance fuels and lubricants tailored to the Formula 1 car, and the technology used on track makes its way into our everyday cars, improving their efficiency and reliability.
We also had the chance to see the Mercedes F1 car in person – an experience not easily forgotten – and to take a guided tour of the Petronas laboratories, where we discovered how the high-performance fluids that make the difference in the most extreme conditions are created.
Special thanks go to Petronas for their warm welcome and the unique opportunity to step into the heart of innovation. It was a real pleasure to experience this day and share it with our readers.
